Terms of Service

Last updated: June 8, 2026

1. Services Overview

MeshMaine LLC ("MeshMaine," "we," "us") provides networking services in coastal Maine and the New Hampshire Lakes Region across three service lines:

  • Event WiFi — temporary internet and WiFi for weddings, gatherings, and corporate events, including the deployment, management, and removal of Starlink terminals and mesh networking equipment.
  • Residential WiFi installation — supply and professional installation of mesh or structured WiFi systems in existing homes.
  • New-construction wiring — structured low-voltage cabling, head-end equipment, and network commissioning for homes under construction or major remodel.

These terms govern all three service lines. Service-specific provisions are noted below; where a section does not name a service line, it applies to all of them. By booking a service or paying a deposit, you agree to these terms.

2. Quotes & Pricing

  • Prices shown on our website are starting points. Every project is quoted individually based on your venue, home, or build.
  • A written quote is valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. Quotes become firm after any required site walk.
  • Hardware is quoted as part of your project. Labor beyond the scope of a fixed-price package is billed at $120/hr (2-hour minimum).

3. Booking & Payment

Event WiFi

  • Deposit: A 50% non-refundable deposit confirms your booking and reserves your date.
  • Balance: The remaining 50% is due no later than 7 days before your event date.
  • Rush bookings: Events booked with fewer than 7 days notice are subject to a 25% surcharge.
  • Multi-day events are quoted individually.

Residential & New Construction

  • Deposit: A deposit (typically 50%, or the cost of special-order hardware, whichever is greater) is required to schedule work and order materials.
  • Balance: The balance is due on completion, or per a payment schedule stated in your quote for larger or phased projects.
  • Special-order hardware is non-refundable once ordered.

4. Cancellation & Refunds

Event WiFi

  • Cancellations 30+ days before the event: full refund of the balance paid (deposit non-refundable).
  • Cancellations 14–29 days before: 50% refund of the balance paid.
  • Cancellations fewer than 14 days before: not eligible for a refund.
  • If severe weather makes safe setup impossible, we will work with you to reschedule at no additional cost, subject to availability.

Residential & New Construction

  • Before work begins and materials are ordered: deposit refunded less any non-refundable special-order hardware and any work already performed (such as a site walk or design).
  • After work begins: you are responsible for labor performed and materials supplied to date.
  • Rescheduling is accommodated where possible; please give as much notice as you can.

5. Service Delivery

Event WiFi

  • We typically arrive 2–3 hours before your event to set up.
  • Service duration is defined by your selected package (Essential: up to 6 hours; Professional: up to 10 hours; Premium and custom builds as quoted).
  • Extended hours beyond your package are billed at $50 per additional hour.
  • All equipment is provided, deployed, and removed by MeshMaine.

Residential & New Construction

  • Installations are scheduled by appointment. New-construction work is phased (rough-in, trim-out, and finish/commissioning) and coordinated with your build schedule and, where applicable, your general contractor.
  • We are not responsible for delays caused by build-schedule slippage, other trades, or site conditions outside our control; affected visits may be rescheduled.
  • Installations include 30 days of phone support after completion.

6. Change Orders

If you request changes to scope, or if conditions not reasonably visible at quoting time are discovered (for example, concealed framing obstructions, steel studs, an unexpected ISP/DMARC path, or additional drops), we will document the change and any added cost as a change order before proceeding. Unforeseen or unusually complex conditions may be billed time-and-materials at our standard labor rate.

7. Client & Worksite Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate venue, home, or build information, including access details, power availability, and any restrictions.
  • Ensure our team has safe, timely access to the site during the agreed window. For new construction, ensure the site is at the appropriate build stage for the scheduled phase.
  • For events, provide access to at least one standard electrical outlet within range of the setup area unless portable power has been arranged.
  • Obtain any permissions, HOA approvals, or landlord/venue consent required for installation or equipment placement.
  • Inform us of changes to project details (date, location, scope, guest count) as soon as possible.

8. Hardware, Warranty & Support

  • Equipment we supply carries its manufacturer's warranty, which passes through to you. We will help facilitate manufacturer warranty claims.
  • We warrant our installation workmanship for 90 days after completion; if an issue results from our installation within that period, we will correct it at no labor charge.
  • Workmanship coverage does not extend to damage from misuse, modification by others, power events, ISP/Starlink outages, or changes to your environment after installation.

9. Service Limitations

While we strive to deliver reliable connectivity, please be aware:

  • Satellite/ISP dependency: Service that relies on Starlink or another internet provider can be affected by severe weather, congestion, obstructions, or provider outages outside our control.
  • Speed variability: Actual speeds vary based on network conditions, the number of connected devices, the internet plan, and provider availability.
  • No uptime guarantee: We cannot guarantee uninterrupted service; performance can be affected by Starlink, weather, and other conditions outside our control.
  • Coverage estimates: Coverage ranges are approximate and vary with layout, building materials, and environment.

10. Liability

MeshMaine's liability is limited to the total amount paid for the affected service. We are not responsible for:

  • Loss of revenue, data, or opportunity arising from service interruptions.
  • Content accessed or transmitted by users over our networks.
  • Damages caused by third-party services (Starlink, ISPs, or streaming platforms).
  • Disruptions caused by factors beyond our control, including severe weather, power failures, build-schedule delays, or site access issues.

11. Acceptable Use

Users and clients agree not to use our networks for any illegal activity, distribution of malicious software, or any activity that violates applicable laws. MeshMaine reserves the right to disconnect any device engaging in prohibited activity.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maine. Any disputes arising from these terms or our services shall be resolved in the courts of the State of Maine.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
